Community Involvement

  

David has a strong desire to help and mentor students and young professionals:

  • David is a member of the Social Justice Committee at The DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church and co-created a mentoring program called the S.M.I.L.E. Project, which stands for Student, Mentor, Internship, with Local Employers. 
  • Since the conception of this program, David has mentored high school students in his law office, introducing them to the work force and to the career of law. 
  • David has also been a regular evaluator for the College of DuPage paralegal program and has taken on interns from that program in his law office. 
  • Additionally, David is involved in the DCBA Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program were he has taken some younger attorneys under his wing.

In the community:

  • David has set up stations in the community offering free legal advice and takes on pro bono cases through DuPage County Legal Aid 
  • Volunteers with Lawyers Lending a Hand (at locations such as: The DuPage County Convalescent Center, the Ray Graham Project, painted the Glen Ellyn Community Learning Center,  the DuPage Children’s Museum, The People’s Resource Center in Wheaton, and the Northern Illinois Food Bank.)
  • David Ran a charity drive in his office for the LilySarahGrace Fund. Collecting art supplies and donating them to local elementary schools.
  • David Has given talks on DUI and Domestic Battery at local Churches.

In the legal community:

  • David enjoys judging mock trial competitions and has done so on all levels; including middle school, high school, undergrad, and at Law School competitions.
  • He is a Member of the DuPage County, Illinois State, and American Bar Associations.
  • As well as the Robert E. Jones American Inns of Court, DuPage County Chapter were he sits on the executive board as the MCLE Chair 
  • In association with the DCBA, David Volunteers with an annual theater production called Judges Night in DuPage, as well as being a member of the DCBA Softball team – Both events raise money for DuPage County Legal Aid

More:

  • David has an interest in promoting diversity and takes part of a program called Diversity Dinners.
  • As well as a variety of other community activities from cub scouts, to coaching tee-ball. 
  • David also believes in the importance of supporting public service, so he makes sure to donate to the Illinois State Police, Kane County Sheriff’s Police Lodge #14, Firefighters Charitable Foundation, and the Illinois Association of Retired Firefighters since 2014, Association for Homeless and Disabled Veterans
  • As well as Wishing Well Foundation Association for Homeless and Disabled Veterans, the Committee for Missing Children, Inc., Children International, APNAR and many others.
  • Appointed Precinct Committeeman for Lisle Township 2017
